The modeling agencies will help train the models, get them test shoots, layout their portfolio. They also take care of finding work. The modeling agencies keep in touch with those who use models and provide them with composites and head sheets of their talent. They advertise, do lunches and make cold calls in order to find who is hiring models.
After finding the work, the modeling agencies book time for models, give directions to get there and make sure models show up. They handle billing, collections, and complaints. And of course they pay the models. A good agency is the one that finds models work and therefore earns every cent of its commission (usually 15% to 33%).
